Our training method is a
mixture of the classical German riding school
and North American techniques.
Training
Our youngsters’ education
starts as weanlings, when they are brought into the barn and handled daily
for one month (tie, pick up feet, brush and bath & lead). They are then
returned to the herd where they experience the most natural way of
growing up, learning to interact with each other through play with other
young horses
and how to find their place within the herd's hierarchy. This experience
has proven
to be highly beneficial to build the right foundation, preparing our foals
minds and
attitudes for their future training.
We generally start our youngsters as three year olds, depending on their
maturity level.
Great emphasis is spent on ground work though lunging and gradually
exposing
the horse to an array of new situations.
Riding starts after
approximately three weeks and usually lasts one month. The horse
is then returned to the herd until the age of four, when more serious
Dressage or
Jumping training begins, according to the horse‘s natural ability.
